built my new pc about 2 weeks ago it works fine and all but for some reason if I use it for an extended period of time i get a blue screen saying my pc needs to be shut off mostly happens when im exiting the mmo world of warcraft....I cant think of what could be doing this.....I know this is not soley a hardware question but i didnt know where to stick this topic and i really need help with this because i lose alot of stuff when this happens, Oh and i dont know what it says because i have only seen it once the first time but it has happened 3 times since then but i havent been around...if you have any ideas please please help me out
possibly either your cpu or videocard is overheating. how many fans total in your system? download & run this program http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
If this is only happening when leaving a 3D game then I would suspect drivers. I bet you have a VIA chip set. If not then I am wrong. Make sure you have the latest Video card and chip set drivers. Worst case scenario would be bad memory on your video card. That can only be fixed by replacing the card. I highly doubt it is memory but something to think about. -Del
