Ok, I have a Sony DCR-TRV103 that has kicked the bucket. Been a great camera until now. I have about 30 or so HI8 tapes recorded as D8. I would like to get a new camcorder but don't know what road to take. Get another D8 camera that will play my existing tapes and be outdated? Borrow a camcorder that will play my tapes and burn them to DVD, then buy a DVD or MiniDV type camcorder for future recording? Any input would be great. Christmas is coming up and I have to make a decision soon. Can't be with out the camcorder. Thanks
Opinions are like a.h. everyone has one. IMHO D8 is way I am staying for now. I wouldnt trade my trv 340 for 2 of those you mention.
Dont think there as outdated as you think, if happy with the format, you still put it on a pc then convert to what you want, just cannot share tapes with every man and his dog, dont think its a bad format myself, stick with it.
