New DVD+/- DL drive for a laptop?

    I've got an HP zv6000 laptop and in looking around on the forum I've discovered that the DVD drive that came with it (Matshita UJ-840D) is junk. Is it possible to acquire and install a better drive that'll fit my laptop?

    I'm one of those lucky ones that got the matshita and the uj-840D :)
    Not bad bad but I don't use it for all my dvd ripping or burning.

    Another choice would be get a external burner - use that to write and the Matshita to read.
