New DVD player-won't play DVDFab "Insert Disk 2"

    I have been using DVDFab to split disks for some time now. I recently got a new DVR (Magnavox sold at Wal-Mart) and am real happy with it. However, it has a strange anomoly. When I play disk 1 of a 2 disk split set, the DVR will not play the "Insert Disk 2" screen as my old DVD player did. The movie simply stops playing and you think the disk is bad and wait for the player to find itself again - except it doesnt and after a bit you realize you're at the end of disk 1!

    Anyone have any input on this issue? Your feedback is appreciated!

    what brand of blank media and what burn speed did you use?

    do you split and not compress and keep menu's?

    I've used Sony and Memorex media of varying speeds since I started burning disks. I used to burn at full speed, now I burn at half rated speed. Some disks are everything from the original disk, some are just the movie itself. None of these factors make any difference - the DVR will never show the "insert disk 2" screen, end, stop, period.
