This is the all new HD Box from KryptView
Flashing the box could not be easier
Put Kryptview firmware onto a usb pen turn power on press right, right on front of box and flashing starts

    once flashed
select English, then your service provider, then your area location and hit yellow to scan

picture quality is much better than sd boxes ive seen due to the hdmi up-scaled picture,HD broadcasts are as you would expect pin sharp

recording is easy via usb on back, either usb pen or ext HDD by pressing epg highlighting the desired programme and pressing red button

pressing the usb button you can view recorded programmes,mp3s or jpeg files

pressing OK brings up full channel list in order
pressing OK then yellow brings up a filter list
    Undo
    Alphabet
    Scramble
    Logical CH Num
    Category
    Theme
    HD/SD
    Adult Channels (pin)

the styling of the box is very modern with a mirrored front with channel name in blue ie BBC HD in mirrored display

people think when a new box comes out they get all the channels in irl,it has no reference stating it works on n3 as there is no fix....yet

I think a better question would be is this new box going to be compatible to a fix for N3 in the future which I think would be a better selling point if this was stated instead of people having to go out and buy another new box if there was a N3 fix down the line.

maybe its not possible to have this considering they dont know how to crack it in the first place.

anyway the box does look pretty slick and HD so picture quality should be pretty good.

would this make any difference to a plasma tv that does not have HD ready?

Does anyone know the current selling price of this box?

Why does every new post always go back to N3. There is not fix and wont be one anytime soon. Remember most boxes still work in the UK so post telling us about a new HD box still interest alot of people. This looks a decent box, shame its only got 1 tuner

as irl have more problems than uk and people want to get a new box IF it works to bring channels back that have moved to n3.
all uk boxes for the moment are on n1 so any old box will work there, and with the new hd channels coming a hd box will give you a better picture on a hd tv,this box is for the uk market mainly for the moment but you never know what the future has to offer.

The fact is, whether you like it or not, Nagra 3 is irrelevant to the majority of people on here. A minority of people have been affected by it; the majority will continue to be interested in new hardware.

If people came on here and commented on every other post that they don't live in a cabled area that would be boring as well.

thanks cactikid,i dont see what use the new box would be if nag3 is in but i agree it might be better in uk for obvious reasons, just posted comment to say Kryptview seem to be going the same route as other box providers and bringing out new boxes, look what happened with starview etc, seems just a gimmick with them, just my opinions only and i respect all other opinions posted here, what do you think?

@ tonyi - you will be interested in N3 or iptv when it comes out in england, its just a matter of time.

Im sure you can understand why people are interested in something that is restricting there viewing options.

if you were in the same boat your interest in N3 would be very much like ours.

your right though its not just about getting free tv - its about the hardware more importantly.

    Maybe I misunderstood your 'question'?

You seem to be saying 'why would I buy one of those if I can't access what I want on it'?

I don't think the box is aimed at the Eire market because there is no fix for N3. Just like it isn't aimed at the Polish market. I can't understand why you came on here to complain that the box was no good to you. So what? We all know that it is no good if your signal is N3.

I can't see that a HD/upscaling box is a 'gimmick'. Can you explain?

If I've misunderstood I apologise. I don't understand what your 'opinion' is.

Yes mellio, but why moan about it in a thread someone has posted about new hardware? Why not join of the dozens of threads on the subject that exist already?

When new encryption does come to the UK I won't be on here every day pissing and moaning on other people's threads. It's rude. I'll start my own. :)

if you read my thread i was actually making positive comments about the box and enquiring further about its capabilities.

it was actaully yourself commenting on peoples comments - not sure whats worse.

i know where your coming from about people commenting on N3 all the time but I think that you will find there is a big following of this site in Ireland albeit a smaller population or minority as you call it.

look anyway im not here to get into slanging matches with anyone so if you buy this box maybe you will tell us ohw good it is or isnt.

My comments about maoning were not directed at gunnerpa, not at you.

I won't be buying but it'll be interesting to see how it compares to the SV6.

what are you waffling about tonyi, your praising the box yet your not going to buy one,and i wasnt moaning about the box,you got that wrong as well as your last post.the gimmick i am on about is when nag 1 went to 2,starviews boxes were all doorstops, and low and behold they bring out the sv4,which again all prem channels are gone from this,i am all for the latest technology and agree with the boxes going hdmi etc but would the box makers be not better putting the money in to the software?if you know what i mean,as mello pointed out i am not slagging off these boxes or yourself ,you seem to be the one who took the post up wrong, all i am saying is a lot of people were dissappointed when their boxes went down and sv didnt try to support them, just brought out another box,do you see where im coming from, who knows what the motives are?

I dont know why everyone is talking about new boxes they said they would stand b starview 4 and they dident it would be better if they tried to get a fix rather than putting a new box out they must think were a right pack of eggits in ireland its getting worse than mobile phones a new model every few months

Just to clarify something for you al about Kryptview boxes, this is only there second model, and their first HD unit, when N1 went to nagra2, kryptview supported both old and new box, same will apply if N3 is cracked, all of their units will get a fix if its possible, unlike other box manufacturers, which just bring out new units, and don't support the older ones.

And just remember one thing, Kryptview where the first team to hack the N2 encryption, so bear that in mind about their support.

Lads correct me if im wrong but if most of europe is affected by the introduction of N3 it would not make bad business sense from Kryptview to introduce a new box where there only market is the UK. Are they introducing this box with knowledge of N3 being hacked??????????

No mate there not, its for mainly the Uk market, and if a fix becomes available for Ireland all the better, but as we dont have any HD channels in Ireland at the present time it would be a waste, so as the Hd channels are coming on stream in the uk its a much bigger market.

This is the population of Great Brittan 61,612,300

this is the population of Ireland Present day 4, 021, 200 - February 2009

    a vast difference in people
