new HDD

    hi

    if i want to instal a new HDD in my xbox does it have to be an unused one or can it be an old one that has been totally formatted?

    also what does locking and unlocking your hard drive do?

    when installing a new HDD what steps do i need to take to make the HDD live compatible?

    you guys dont need to answer all at once, if you only know the answer to one of them, then thats ok.....

    Uh I think the easy way to do is get whatever HDD you want, get that Slayer's autoinstaller disc and let Slayer's format the HDD for you.

    Locking the HDD means that only THAT HDD will work with THAT Xbox. You will need to lock it if you want to use LIVE, and turn off your modchip of course.

    thanks for the answer....why would i need to lock the hdd to play on live (sorry if it is a n00b question)
