New NEC 3550A installed, now what?

    Ok, i just put this in to replace my memorex 2.4x cd/dvd combo drive. What do i need to do to get this up-to-date and settings. All help is appriciated!

    windows and your computer should have taken care of the setting and drivers the only area you could check is firmware The download is on my page follow the link in my sig

    Thanks for repliing. I wasn't for sure if there were certain things i needed to check or change before it would run properly. The firmware is fine. I'm very pleased with this NEC compared to my old Memorex 2.4x.

    Transfer Mode - DMA if available. Current Transfer Mode - Ultra DMA Mode 2. This is for both Primary and Secondary. So all is good with thise settings.

    bad move. nec drives don't support bitsetting for +r media in their stock firmware. ya need modded f/w

    Naw, i'm fine with it. Not needing to bitset. I'm happy with it and my burns play in my standalones.

    I have the 3550A and have used liggy and dee's 1y5 rpc1. Excellent results.

    Now all my burns are booktyped DVD-ROM. I am getting 97.8% quality scans with this drive using Verbatim DVD+R 8x. I am very pleased with this drive.
