Nope. The DSi is just another instance of Nintendo milking their DS for all its worth. Nintendo has a habit of ripping off their customers with frequent incremental "upgrades". The DSi offers little downloadable DRM-infested DSiware games (like that Wario game) that require the camera and the screens are 0.25" wider. Their multimedia support is very limited compared to what flash carts offer and the cameras suck. That's not worth $170+ and I like GBA games so I've no interest in selling my DS Lite. I'd rather buy a PSP at this point instead of a minor upgraded DS. Nintendo is probably going to quickly ditch the DSi and come out with the DS2 so if you already have a DS Lite, I don't really see a pressing need not to wait. If you don't already have a DS and you either have a GBA SP already or don't care for GBA, go for it. lebowski: Are you sure you are not giving the DS a fair chance? http://www.metacritic.com/games/ds/scores/ Usually people who criticize the DS claim that A) it's a shovelware system with only first party games, B) its a kiddie system or C) It has crappy graphics. If you care that much about graphics, you have a point. However A and B are myths. There is tons of third party support for DS and GBA (Square Enix, Capcom, Konami, Atlus, etc.) and they do have games appropriate for adolescents and adults, especially for people who like Japanese games, puzzle/training games, visual novels/adventures and RPGs. I regularly play Brain Age 2, which is one of the many games Nintendo markets heavily towards adults, and I'm going through the Phoenix Wright series at the moment (which is third party. Capcom). The big thing though is that if you aren't a non-traditional casual gamer (ie. Adults who bought the DS for puzzle and training games), you need to be a bit of an old-school gamer and/or an otaku to really appreciate the DS. So that could be why people think the DS has no good games.
they arent dropping the PSP ha. They are releasing the PSP2 at the very end of this year or 1st quarter 2010. look it up
There are rumors on both sides of the fence, as always, isn't there strong rumors of an xbox 720? That is all they are speculations and rumors, like with anything. The last bit of information I head very recently is that they are dropping, I do work within the industry by the way but again with anything like this either side is not 100%. Sony could be saying NO as some kind of tactic and then release one? Who knows!?
I've always thought the DS's wifi capability was a little pointless without a browser--go figure they would release one with an internet browser right after I get a DS lite. I'm certainly not going to drop more money on another one. Wouldn't it be possible for Nintendo to release some sort of browser via a game cartridge? That way we can use our DS/lite to browse the net using wifi. I don't see why that couldn't work...it seems like it'd be a smart business move because a much larger percentage of DS owners would buy it as opposed to the percentage who will ditch their DS and upgrade. Or is it possible that there is already an internet browser application on cartridge that I don't know about??? Anybody heard of such a thing???
Yeah Nintendo released a browser for the DS on a cart, but only for Europe and Japan. USA didn't get it. If you have a flash cart and a memory expansion pack (goes in the GBA slot) then you can use the EU or JP version of the browser.
