Hi, ok drive arrived today installed it bios, windows XP detected it fine, im trying to burn dvd ISO's that i made from dvd decryptor, but whenever i try write these ISO's to dvd-r, it just hangs at "writing lead in" ive waited for bout 3min to see if it would click over but it just hangs, and ive now realised it turns the media into coasters too, so its writing something, ive tried dvd decryptor and nero express which came with the drive, used 3 different types of media, princo 4x, ritek GO3, and Optodisc, all coastors 3 and counting :(

Ive read that the new firmware does more harm than good, also could it be the ISO? i also have alot of backing up to do i may try just adding singular files.

Well i was using "advdinfo" and when ever i tried to get it to read the "media ID" and numourous other options id get an error bout my ASPI, so i upgraded it to 4.71.2, and to make sure the upgrade is only bout half a megabyte?

Yes, ASPI layers are important, however Nero has its own. Also, Nero Xpress is useless, why not use Nero Bruning ROM or Record Now

Well i fixed it by mounting the ISO using daemon tools, then doing a "on the fly" copy with nero and it worked :)

Thanks for all the help, still a mystery y it wont burn the ISO directly, might try again after ive formated

I'm having no trouble with my A06 running Windows 2000 Adv Server.

Its doing it again, this is after a format, and i had previously just just burnt 4 perfect dvds, 1 ISO and 3 with just files i backed up all using nero 6, and all of a sudden the damn thing is spitting out coasters again, these ritek GO4's arnt cheap here, and still i cant figure out wtf is happening....im running a simulaiton in nero and its fine, also when i run ADVDINFO i get errors when i try to get any info of thte disc, something about ASPI but orphious did say nero used its own ASPI layer
