Hi everyone I have a starview box but with the old software! Can anyone tell me if there are new codes as i can't find any anywhere!?
The codes only changed in the UK, no code change in Ireland yet. You can always find the latest codes on this link http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/531363 If you have old firmware, why not update it, so you don't need to put in the codes manually. Check to see whether you have a clone or genuine. Count the vents on the top of the box, if it has 18x7, it's a clone. Also, press menu, then select System Information, and tell us what API it has.
OK. 25x7 vents means it's a genuine, so the latest firmware is version 4.00 . Go to the eko site at the end of my post, in the starview -> firmware directory, you'll get the version 4.00 firmware STARVIEW_H20070607_400eE_api.bin In starview -> software, you'll get the gtrom loader program to flash the firmware file to the starview GTRom v4.00.exe In starview -> documentation you'll get a couple of useful guides SV Update Guide.doc ( how to update firmware ) STARVIEW_HELP_GUIDE.doc ( how to setup the starview ) You will also need a null modem cable, which may have come in the box when you bought the starview. Are you using a pc or laptop? Does is have a 9-pin male serial port?
