Hey guys, I was wondering if I can get some input, I really dont know where to start with a new system. I dont need something that can run crysis with all the settings maxed out, I just need something that will run most games on the market smoothly. I also dabble in Adobe CS3 so something that will keep up is always a plus. Thanks in advance for the help.
Wait until the Radeon HD4850 comes out then get one of those, and a Quad core CPU like the Q6600 or Q9450.
alright upon your advice i have come up with the rough outline, let me know your thoughts. CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017 MoBo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127030 case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137 memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184 video - Radeon HD4850 as you suggested HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073 (thought about a raptor but i really dont need the speed and the amount of space for the price is good.) CD Drive/Burner - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136133 Power Supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339006 is 580W adequate? I considered getting a sound card but i really dont require high quality, if you guys think its necessary ill spring for one, but i really dont see the need at this point. I appreciate any comments/feedback, thanks again for the help.
CPU is good. Motherboard is OK, but expensive for what it is, I usually recommend using these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128086 Case, RAM, DVD drive and hard disk are all very good choices. PSU is very poor though, and positively dangerous. Use this instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001
excellent, thank you for your input, this looks like its going to come in right around $1100, perfect. am i missing anything? i have the keyboard, mouse and display covered. additional fans, cables?
Not unless you want a sound card - that's pretty much it. You might want to get a couple of extra fans. These are excellent: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835129249
