well im new to burning and i have windows vista. so i got nero ultra and when i download a movie its almost perfect, but when i go to burn it on dvd( using a slower write speed) the movie has lots of glitches. is there something im missing? and how do i make a back up copy of my kids dvd movies before they get messed up?
I would use DVD Flick instead of Nero for avi conversions. Here is a guide. Burning slow can be as bad as burning too slow...I wouldn't burn 16X media any slower than 8X. The glitches can be due to either excessive compression or cheap media. There are a few other things that can cause pixellation, pausing and freezing...but those two seem to be the main culprits. I assume you are talking about backing up from a DVD now? Rip your DVD to HDD first using DVDFab HD Decrypter, then use Recode to compress (if needed) and burn to a blank DVD.
