just got dsl today, im running a router, everytime i open internet explorer, the bottom always says "detecting proxy setting" and it will stay like that for 20-30 seconds before it loads. anyone know how to fix?
Check to see if the proxy settings are set to Automatic. In IE, Tools, Internet Options. Connection tab, LAN Settings button. Check the box, "Automatically detect settings".
Not really. It is just a normal thing that IE does. It also depends on how you isp has set things up. Call them and find out the proper settings. You could also try using a different browser like Opera or Firefox.
