New to the macworld

    hey guys i just purchases my first mac (aside from my iPod) i have a new iBook

    14"
    1.42 Ghz
    512 MB RAM (soon to be 1GB)
    8x superdrive

    well i'm sure you guys know all the specs on it anyway i'm hopeing to find out some information any little tips you guys can give me about mac osx i am also looking for good software title in the following catagories

    Photo editing / graphic design
    cd/dvd burning utillies
    DVD ripping software

    and any other programs you guys can think of that i might need i am almost clus
    eless about mac i have only had it for 2 days and i'm already in love well guys thanks for your help in advance

    this guide is about transferring dvd's to your ipod but you have to rip them onto your computer first.

    i would say handbrake or handbrake lite is the best software available on mac for dvd ripping. you can find instructions on how to use it at the link i posted.

    ther is ilife 06 and toast 7 titanium is good for burning dvds

    well iLife '06 came with it and i already have toast 7 which i love i haven't even touched my pc sence i got this anyway i would like some good photoediting / graphic design software and also software for backuping up dvds
