New to Xbox Modding.....Please Help

I just got a SmartXX v3 modchip installed in my xbox and im having problems gettin things to work. I allready have Slayers EvoX 2.7 and FlashFXP. Do I need to install EvoX first? and when I try to FTP to my xbox i get the message...
[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.101 -> IP=192.168.0.101 PORT=21
[R] Connection failed (Connection refused)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

You can not FTP until you have installed a hacked dash (EvoX)
First thing to do is use Slayer 2.7
Unless there are some things on the drive you wish to save i would first do a format for retail drive.
Then the next step would be to install EvoX on the C: partition. If you did not want to do a fresh format like above then start at this step.
Then the last step should have an option for installing all the apps, it usually gives you the option of installing them on E: or F:
and you want to choose the one that shows the most available space, when i did mine way back when with Slayer 2.6 it was F:

After it is all set up then you need to start reading guides on how to FTP. You have to set up the Xbox network settings and the FTP program. Then connect through a crossover cable (or wireless connection if you have a wireless router and gaming adapter)
It is a bit of stuff to do but is all worth it in the end.

also once you make a connection do a search on "xlink kai" and "xbconnect"
Those are 2 free online gaming systems that have support for quite a few Xbox games.
