Have a Starview 4 USB - now useless in Ireland. Was thinking about other uses for it. Was wondering if it would work to decode a satellite signal if I connect to a dish - I have an old sky dish at the side of the house that I have never used. That way I could get rid of NTHell ! Has anyone tried this ?

It's not going to work with satellite dish.

All it can be used now is as a door stopper :0

best thing you could do with it is sell it to someone across the water to make use of it and you get some money back.

It's not going to work with satellite dish.

Why wouldn't it work from a dish? Forgive my ignorance but what are they for then?
Could I load original software and get the standard NTL cable channels that I pay for through it - reception through the box is better then my normal signal ?

Different signal(sat used DVB-S afaik), sell it to someone on chorus or up north/in England.
or just enjoy the channels that are left for the next few weeks.

putting the original firmware on it will get you nothing, they are for providers that offer free to air digital channels through cable(DVB-c)
