I'm having major issues with video playback. First I tried to play on regular Windows Media Player--result was choppy video. Next I downloaded the WMP Classic--for some reason won't play video but the sound is great! Then I went crazy and downloaded a bunch of junk I probably don't need and have since deleted. Now, after a complete reinstall of aol I'm ready to start over. I only have WMP that came with aol. I noticed reading at the forums that codecs packs are generally a bad idea. What downloads would you recommend for XP & AOL 9.0 to play most if not all formats but won't conflict with the existing AOL package with 9.0 and won't cause these video playback problems--skipping sound & video? Also, the problem I'm having with AOL media player and Windows Classic player is the same--DX50 decompressor not found. Unable to render. I did a quick search on Google and found this in the latest version of DivX 5.1. But I don't want to download the whole thing unless I have to for fear it will just cause more problems then it solves. Your help is welcome. Thanks ahead of time.
The fact that you use AOL prolly dont make a difference but pay a visit to http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/48608 all the same
