Newb help please!

    I have searched the forums and have not found my solution so please help if you can. I have a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 104 and am running Win XP Pro SP1. The drive came with Nero 5 and when recording or trying to burn anything to a DVD it comes with an error saying please insert DVD. When there is a blank in the drive. I am using Memorex and HP media. The drive will not recognize either of these discs. So I upgraded to Nero 6 Ultra edition and still encounter the same problem. BTW it burns cd's just fine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I assume the discs you are using are labeled DVD-R, not DVD+R?

    Thanks for the help just got off the phone with pioneer and said it only uses -r not plus didn't know thanks for the clue!
