    Hi,
I recently purchased a new receiver, speakers, and got a hand me down subwoofer from a friend that I cannot figure out how to connect.

My receiver is fairly new. It is a DENON AVR 788. It has a Pre-Out Subwoofer plug.

The speaker is a Polk Audio Surround Bar that is a single bar that I have connected to the receiver.

My subwoofer is a friend's old one. It is a KLH Audio Systems Bassbite II. I do not know where to plug in the cable from the receiver. It has the following plugs:

    - Red and White Left and Right "Low Level Input"
    - Traditional speaker wire inputs. There is right and left that says "From Amplifier" and another Right and Left that says "to the speakers"
    - There is no single RCA jack like the RCA jack for the Subwoofer Out on the receiver.

Does anyone know how I connect these all together?

    Thank you.

Hi, you need to get a "Y" converter and take the sub out from the receiver and "double" the output into 2.

Then take the 2 RCA ends (of the "Y") and plug them into the low level imputs of the subwoofer. Thats it !

    Merry Christmas !

    Jo,

Thanks so much for your response. Just to confirm, I think you said that I need to get something like the following. One splitter is "mono" and the other is "stereo" -- which one do I need?

    http://www.cablesforless.com/p-131-stereo-splitter-6-inch-female-35mm-plug-to-2x-male-rca-plugs.aspx

    http://www.cablesforless.com/p-129-mono-splitter-6-inch-female-rca-plug-to-2x-male-rca-plugs.aspx

Also on top of this, do I need to buy a RCA subwoofer cable, or can I just use one of the cables in the usual red, white, yellow RCA combo?

    Thanks again!

ajaslan, as JVC stated, you will need the mono style.

    And you are welcome !
