I have been copying and writing DVD's for over three years now using Clone DVD and I have come across a problem recently.

Is it possible that my burner will not burn on certain DVD-R's.

I went out and bought a 100 pack of Fugi's and my burner would not write on any of them, but my friends system would. Originally I chalked this up to a learning and did not buy Fugi's again. Now I am having the same issue with Maxell's.

Can anyone tell me what is going on here. I have ID the disk below

try sticking with Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim

also make sure you have the most up to date firmware for you're drive/burner check here

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php

and how old is the drive/burner?

maybe its time for a new one

the fujiflim media will code out as prodisc which is not good

    I agree with aabbccdd....

Your drive is coming up on 4 years old and while I have a 3540 that I still use daily there will come a time when it's outlived it's usefulness.

There is a firmware update available for your drive...104c that may help with media compatability. But even if that fixes the problem you are better off using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden in the future, as suggested, to avoid headaches.

Thank you. I have updated my firmware and I can now burn on these DVD's. I will use up these and stick with Verbatim for future use.
