Hi…. I’m wondering if someone can point me to the right direction. I’ve been attempting to reauthor a series shows taped from tv. I’d like to combine several onto one disc and edit out commercials. Normally, I use Roxio to capture an MPEG file, edit thru VideoReDo (a great editing program) and use Nero to burn. In the past, (when Roxio didn’t work), I captured the data thru Decryptor (VOB’s), performed edits thru VideoRedo and saved it as an MPEG file. I can’t seem to do this now. I’ve tried various processes and can capture and edit ISO files via Shrink. However, I want to combine these shows onto one disc (via Nero) but can’t seem to do it. Nero can only burn ISO’s, but seem to be able to capture the shows nor allow me to reauther them. Does anyone know if there’s a way to convert ISO files to MPEG? …… or, how can I reauthor ISO files on Nero? I hope this makes sense. Any/all suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks
Not sure on this but Isobuster should do what you want. This guide is for bin/cue but I'm pretty sure I followed it once for an iso: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/141726.php#svcdbin You can try it, anyway.
Thanks for the link. Being a newbie, I'm afraid I'm not clear on the terminologies. Is there another official name for ISO files? I found this site that highlights different ways to convert formats -but first, I need to understand what an ISO file is. In other words is it a "DVD", a "VCD", a "SVCD", "AVI" ??? http://www.videohelp.com/convert
I don't know a lot about Iso's but it is an exact image of whatever, DVD, CD, etc. and can be burned using ImgBurn.
An ISO file is an image file that resembles a CD or DVD. The most popular reason to make an ISO is to have a single file that contains whatever information (Movie, Audio, Data) and have it ready to burn to CD or DVD. You extract the info contained in an ISO file if you have the right tools (ISO Buster, WinRAR, and many others). You can burn an ISO file with pretty much every burning program out there (Nero, ImgBurn, and many others).
Thanks hermes ..... By using these ISO extractors, will they allow me to edit? If so, which ones are recommended? I have some tv shows taped directly from tv that I'd like to edit. Normally, I capture them as mpegs or VOBs to do this. But for some reason, I'm not able to do it with this batch with Decryptor or Roxio. I am however, able to capture ISO files with Shrink, but I can't edit ISO files.
Once you extract the files within the ISO image you can edit them with your video editing software of choice.
