I did some searching, and didn't find it so I hope I didn't miss it. I have an image a friend made for me. I was stoked about it, but was upset to find out the image would not play in my stand alone, even though it will play other burns of the same media whenever I do the encoding using tmpgenc and tmpgenc dvd author. So what do I do? I run it through dvd author, and it works fine! Problem fixed aye? Well, I got another image from him, and this time when I tried to put it into dvd author it is only showing up with 417 mb, but showing over 10 hours of playtime? The vts_01_2.vob is 419 mb, so I'm thinking its only seeing that one and not the vts_01_1.vob which is .99 gb. The even more funny thing is that it's grabbing 16 minutes (which is what vts_01_2.vob consists of) but the 16 minutes its grabbing is from vts_01_1.vob. So I think, maybe I have a problem or two with the ifos? I break out ifoedit and run it through just about every possible thing I can, finally I get it to tell me I have no Navigation Pack. I've tried just about anything I can possibly think of to get this to run through dvd author so I can play it on my standalone. Oh another quirk, when I try and do IfoEdit on the video_ts.ifo whenever I hit Menu Extras it crashes IfoEdit, similarily whenever I use the play dvd option or preview with IfoEdit it will crash. This image plays perfectly on the computer, and on some of my friends stand alones, just not on mine. Can anyone help a newbie out?
Why don"t you Simply Extract the VOB files from the Image as a Single Big VOB file and then just Load the VOB into "Tmpgenc DVD author" and author the Vob to DVD (No need to use Tmpgenc to re-encode it because it is allready in the Correct Format)??? You could extract the Vob files as a single Big VOB file by First mounting the Image to a Virtual-Drive useing "Daemon Tools" and then use DVD Decryptor" to Rip the Vob files as a Single VOB file (You will have to set the "File Spliting" settings to "None" so it rips as a Big VOB instead of a Bunch of Small VOB"s).....
