Hello. Before I begin, I guess I should tell some specifics to weed out any potential questions. My set-up is a modded Qoob pro with the 1.3a bios. I have a BBA connected to the gamecube and to the router. My pc is connected to the same router for the internet. We have 3 isps. Everything should work fine to my understanding, but it doesn't. I transfer the NGCdev 0.2(or something. it's the latest one) to the chip. Boot up NGCDev and insert my game. Press A and it tells me to go to "http://192.168.1.32/backup.iso." I go to my pc and change my ip to 192.168.1.100 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Right after that, I go to IE and type in http://192.168.1.32/backup.iso. I get no response. A page saying some error(an error shows. One that looks like when you're not connected to the internet). Is there something I'm missing? Everyone makes it sound so easy.
do you have static IP's set or does the router assign ip's (DHCP) because I think you have dhcp set, and in that case the ip for the gamecube is different check the settings in the router to see what IP the Gamecube has then open another window and enter that IP followed by /backup.iso and it should work BTW if you're using a router and are directly booting to the program you dont need to change your ip on the computer
Yea, my router automatically assigns IPs to my pcs. Hmm, so I don't need to change my ip then. I'll try it as soon as I can. Thanks for the response. Will post results.
No, it's not working... 8( Keeps giving me the same error. http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=9/25519211252.jpg&s=x1
OK, I got the GCOs 1.4 ripper to start downloading, but the download immediately stops. It starts at like 170kBs, then descends. Whats up with that? I've tried several different methods for downloading the file (download managers, shareaza, etc) all same result. BTW, I did have to config my ip by going to my network settings. Something that's strange to me though is that ngcdev didn't work at all where GCOS1.4 at least picked up the iso.
ok i'm going to say this for the last time. If you have a router then what you need to do is check the settings for the gamecube so for example if you're config area for the router is 192.168.1.1 go in and check to see what IP it is assigning to the gamecube, if possible assign it a static IP, if you are able to then assign the gamecube 192.168.1.32 if you assign the gamecube that ip then you will be able to connect to it fine
Yes, I've left the defaults for the GC ip (192.168.1.32) and I configured my static IP to 192.168.1.100 and it still doesn't work with ngcdev ripper (none of the versions do for me). I get GCOS 1.4 working, but it stops downloading less than a second it starts. It seems as though it loses it's connection. I've tried it on 2 of my PCs, and got the same results. I've even disabled firewall. Could it be my router? Here's a pic. It starts downloading, then immediately stops(The download window stays open, but the speed in kBs just freezes. No fluctuation what so ever. The progress bar doesn't budge at all, so I know it isn't downloading.) http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=9/25618290160.jpg&s=x1 (BTW: How do I come about checking the actual IP the router assigns the GC? With the GCOS program alone, it lets me define the ip I want to use on the GC)
what I recommend is removing the router and use a crossover cable, it seems that the router is causing your problems. what brand and model of router do you have? pm me and i'll try to help you out
not true, I use it once in a while and it works perfectly for me and i'm running a crossover cable from my PC to the gamecube it's all in the settings, if you use DHCP then the IP address of the gamecube wont be right and you have to adjust all your settings accordingly
There is a .exe file that comes with the NCGDev program that allows you to change the default IP address of the gamecube. If you haven't tried that, maybe that will help. I just changed the default IP and gateway of the gamecube to match what I already had configured on my D-Link router. Then you burn that to a disc and load it in your gamecube. It will give you a different IP to goto on your computer. Maybe it is worth a shot if your not having any luck any other way. I think you just edit the .ini file, change the IPs, then run the .exe file that will update the .dol file. I have never had a problem doing it with that. I use a DLink Router, and my PC and gamecube are both connected to it directly. Hope that helps.
Once I think I got all my ip setting and everything working, but I could only download at speeds of 1 to 3 kbs per second with NGCDEV 0.2a. I tried the same settings with the multi-ripper and I got about 500 kbs per second.
Stevetex, Hey thanks for the tip on editing the ngcdev02.ini file works great. He is right gang, just edit the .ini file to what ever the router assigns the ip address to. Then run the ngcdev-conf.exe file. For example [NETWORK] GCIP=192.168.0.101 GATEWAY=192.168.0.100 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 Then save and run the .exe file load the new ngcdevr02.dol to cube. Run internet explorer http://192.168.0.101/backup.iso and BOOM streaming. Mine is at about 1.78MB/SEC. AGAIN BIG THANKS to Stevetex...
If I'm not mistaken, the settings for the ngcdev must be the following: GCIP - Same IP as pc except the last three digits Gateway - PC's ip Subnet mask - (Does this need to be the same for the gamecube and the PC? My pc subnet is 255.255.240.0, but the GC subnet is 255.255.255.0) Please correct me if I'm wrong. I've been trying to get this thing to work for over a few weeks now.
nunzio738 or anyone else, I have a qoob pro chip and am in the process of learning how to backup my original disks. In nunzio738 reply he says "load the new ngcdevr02.dol to cube" How exactly do I do that ??
