behind Ports? Don't understand the DMZ and Port Forwarding settings?
This is what i did to get rid of the port problems with P2P and Network SMB Sharing.

What you need : Two Eithernet Ports (1 PCI , 1 On board , Or two pci)
1 Modem (Cable or DSL) 1 Router (wireless , LAN doesnt matter) , Windows XP Or later

    okay, first

Take the modem link From the Modem > to your computer on the onboard LAN port, (or one of the PCI cards) windows should notice the wire is connected, and try to get onto the DCHP server (asking for an IP)
Go to Your Network options in your control Panel the One thats Lit up is your internet Connection , click that once (or right click and then pick "rename" and rename it Net or internet so that way you know and can remember.

secondly, hook the secound port to the router. -BUT NOT THE INTERNET PORT- This should be placed in Slot one not in the WAN port The second light on the taskbar should be looking for an ip now (if your router is pluged in) now go back to the Network Settings and rename that connection "Network"

Third, WHat you want to do now is to log into the Settings of the Router on most Routers it's Http://192.168.0.1 it could be depending on your router (look it up online) What you want to do now after logged in is Disable your DCHP Server and make the connection Static and set the IP to 192.168.0.2 mask stays the same 255.255.255.0

Fourth , okay, now you have your network set, all you have to do now is set windows up. Go back to back to your network connections and select "Network Setup Wizard" or "Set up home or office network"

A window should up Telling you the things you already know. click next, Next again, this is telling you to turn on everything. Then you want to set up that the computer connects Directly to the net and other computers connect thru this one. (Option one)

Next Slect Internet or net , This will act as your host
    And you are all set.
your computer will now act as your host, and the router is a gateway for the other computers on your network.

    and last THe other computers
On the OTHER computer you want to make the client go to Network Connections in your Contorl Panel. double click the connection,
Then Proporties then TCP/IP Proporities again. now set your own ip
    192.168.0.X
the x is a random number this will work as your ip and your mask will stay the same 255.255.255.0

and repeat for as many computers as you have Furewall and no port problems.

    Thanks I hope this helped.

pertty neat, but what happens when your firewall denies access from other networking PC's ?

Ah, See i used the Windows Default Firewall. and with that you can Disable the Firewall on the Network. while keeping it on the internet connection. As for things like Norton internet and other things there are settings to Enable the ip on the network i believe rather then port by port.

Well with norton you would have to set an IP range of the computers that are going to connect to that computer.

Lets say computer 1 is 192.168.1.100, you would have to tell nortons firewall that computer 2 192.168.1.101 and computer 3 192.168.1.102 and so on that these computers will connect to this computer.

For computer 2 192.168.1.101, you would have to tell nortons firewall that computer 1 192.168.1.100 and computer 3 192.168.1.102 and so on that these computers will connect to this computer.

Here is an example of Norton,
