Ok, I defragged my comp and reinstalled windows as a sort of spring cleaning. I got everything working until I tried to play a game. There wasn't any sound. I went to the sound menu in the control panel and it says No Audio Device. I checked the BIOS and I have the audio on (it's integrated onto my Intel MoBo). My chipset is Intel 845G. Any advice??
when you re-installed windows, did you install the drivers that came with the motherboard? If its an onboard audio chip the drivers should be with the motherboard discs
no system restore disk? Most computer like that come with some sort of drivers disk along with windows... If not, go to dell's website and you should be able to find your audio driver by typing in what your computer model no is.
I'm sorry I'm completely clueless about this. I've looked all day. Could someone do me a huge favor and find the driver. Thanks a lot
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...=DIM_PNT_P4_CEL_2400&category=3&os=WW1&osl=EN there are three different audio drivers, yours is probably the first one, that says integrated edited 4 typo
WoW, you found that in 5 minutes. Thanks for 2 things: 1. Solving my problem 2. Making me feel like a complete retard I can't stress how important this was, thanks again!
