Using the latest Divx to DVD (VSO) I get a nice movie but no sound. What am I doing wrong? Someone in another segment of these forums said he experienced the same but went to DVDShrink, and that fixed it. I tried it and still no sound. I doubt I should have to do that. What am I doing wrong. Please explain in Newbie language. I'm green.
Hi, Divx to DVD may not support the compressed sound within the avi/video file. Simply use Virtual Dub Mod (http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/virtualdubmod/VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_All_inclusive.zip)and extract the audio from the avi file into .wav .. there are tutorials available to do this from http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=280779 After doing this use a DVD authoring program i'd suggest Tmpg DVD Author. Import the DVD folder or avi which was converted to mpeg2, then import the Audio (.wav) It will create the dvd for you and let you select a menu to use, also lets you input chapter points etc. Hope this helps Dan
Hi again, This is what I am (currently) doing .... I have "encoded" the audio into mp2 using ffmpeggui, and am encoding the avi (video only) to m2v. Then I'm going to use TMPGenc DVDAuthor to mix the 2 together & add chapters etc. .... Am I along the right lines? Thanks for your help!
Yep, you learned quick. You'll be on your way in no time mate. When the video conversion is done, open up tmpg author and add the video file. If you put the audio in the same directory sometimes it adds the audio as source straight off. If not just browse for the mp2 file and click next. The next steps are very easy to understand. Good luck Dan
