hey everyone! I'm trying to watch a film in .avi format. Before the video didn't play at all until i downloaded the ffdshow and the other ac3 one that you can get on this site under 'playback problems'. As soon as it started to play, I realised there was no sound. My sound is definitely working with other files so it must be the video. Can anyone help!? thankyou ell.
ell365, Download Video Inspector. Drag and drop the .AVI file in it. From there, you'll be able to determine if the proper audio codecs are installed. If they aren't, use Video Inspector to download the necessary codecs.
what are you playing it in? dvd player or pc? cuz not all media players support ac3 audio. use a proven winner like winamp or vlc. gspot is a good avi inspector too. will tell you if you have codecs installed
