    Hi all,

I recently modded a version 1 Xbox using the Xecuter 2.6CE Lite chip and I can't seem to find the Cromwell Screen to update the bios. I modded the version 1.6 with breeze but I couldn't get this one to work. dry.gif

One thing I noticed was when I powered on the Xbox without the Hard Drive or the DVD Rom connected, everything loaded up fine looking like figure 6 for about 10 seconds (eject button was solid green), then the eject button blinked red/green looking like figure 5. However, when I plugged in the Hard Drive and the DVD Rom, it boots up normal to figure 7. unsure.gif

I'm a newbie at this can someone please, kindly justify my work and help me troubleshoot this?

I resoldered every wire so that it doesn't touch the board to avoid bridge, but still no luck. Any help on this is much appreciated.

After installing correctly Xecuter 2.6CE Lite chip on xbox v1.x, then turn on the xbox, it will ask you to update the bios.

Ok, when you boot up with Hdd and DVD drive connected, you have original MS dashboard. This means the xbox read the original bios on motherboard. So xbox did not see the bios on modchip.

Then you boot without Hdd and DVD drive connected, you still see the original bios (not cromwell on modchip). Then xbox give you an error 7 because it can find the HDD and DVD.

Conclusion: xbox did not see the bios (cromwell) on modchip. I'm very sure that if xbox boot the cromwell bios then it will ask you to update bios. Plus you will not able to load MS dashboard with cromwell bios.

I dont know how you installed your chip. I can only say right now "xbox did not recognize the modchip".

...If you justify my installation from the pictures above is correct, then I have done nuthing wrong, maybe a faulty chip. If what you see in the above is wrong then obviously I soldered something wrong. It was kool of you to help me out. thanks man.

...hmm. I beleive you solder it right. Only thing you should check the D0 point. Make sure you get it right. Also the modchip is enable.

As I said the cromwell bios wont load M$ dashboard. And it also dont have the Big X.

Beside this I dont know what to tell you.
