i've just bought a modded xbox(x3 chip and 200 HDD), and i also made a "donation" for a disc that i thought was what i needed. when i select "flash bios from disc" and insert the memorex dvd-r, i get the dreaded "no bios update found...halting". so i email the guy and tell him my prob and he says that he did not send me a bios boot disc and that his xbox was modded with the bios already installed which i thought was illegal, so i think he's lying. so my question is what would cause the "no bios update found" other than the disc not being made properly?
When you turn the XBOX on does it compleate the Boot Cycle? (e.g. Can you get past the Flubber / 'X™', "Microsoft™' Screens?),. If so then there is a Firmware installed infact you might see something like the X3logo and "Rox My Box" instead of the actuall 'Microsoft™' at the bottom of the 'X™' Screen. This is a giant visual clue that the Chip is working! As far as makeing a 'Donation' for a Disc? Ever head of eDonky or how about Bittorrent. I can't beleave there are People willing to buy a Slayers CD. While on this Subject it's been going around on this Board that Memorex Media is considerably poor. Next time you might want to try useing Verbatims' In anycase burning such Discs at 2x MAX! is considerd a good idea. As for makeing a BIOS CD-R (or CD\RW given that 90% of the XBOX's™ out there can not read a CD-R),.
