    Hi folks,

My boxes have gone down, I have been told everyones are down?!?!?

I have a Starview 1 box and the other is a Dreambox DM500c and both are only brining in BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4 and Five.

Is there a fix? What can I do to get something, anything more than what im getting now?

    Im in Birmingham

    Thanks.

Yep due to the latest encryption NAG.3 "all" old cable boxes will not work, no fix or updates

Have a look at the Starview.6 or 7 and the Kryptview A780

you need broadband aswell for these boxes to work

BB access is too risky in my opinion. No other way?

well you need internet for them to work
some get them working with the ready to go dongle as there is a special router you can get for them

Until a few people have commented on the internet line signal, looks like this is the end of the road on that subject for me. Too too risky for my liking.

Well at the end of the day its a risk you take and the choice is yours.
you could always look at the sat option, might be a bit less risky for ya
but do your homework if going down that route

I would imagine thats a sat setup e45 whereas the poster was enquiring about cable box, so your wasting the posters time, although I am sure you know this. And shouting it over the place is not clever or funny in my opinion.

I was checking that out a long time ago and as far as I was aware it wasn't possible at the time to change from c to s as not only do you need to change the tuner but the main board was different also?

Probably cheaper to buy a 500s as you also need to jtag it after changing tuner if you find one that is capable to change.

did not have to jtag my one just took it off and changed the tuner and cut a small piece out of the box and it works
