No errors when checked but still cannot convert

I have an AVI that won't convert with ConvertXtoDVD. When launched, I get a message saying, One or more files can't be converted. The log lists the path to the file along with 'unrecoverable error while reading.'

I tried AVI2DVD but when I used the QuEnc option, I got a division by zero error. When I used FreeEnc I was able to do the conversion but the audio and video were not synced. So I figured I would try to sync the two streams.

I opened the file in VirtualDub and got the message: No audio compressor could be found to decompress the source audio format (source format tag: 2000). The compression type is listed as 'unknown'. I also get the message: Truncated or invalid compressed audio format (16 bytes, should be 18) Attempting to fix.

GSpot indicates the audio codec as: 0x2000 (dolby AC3) AC3.

DivX Repair and DivFix found no errors.

So now I'm at a bit of a loss where the problem lies. I want to be able to convert the thing to DVD but I want the video and audio synced.

 

Just a follow up. I tried to convert again using Avi2Dvd with the HCEnc option but the program crashed with a problem with hcbatch.exe. This is the log file that was given but it is not too helpful

at the log file the 0 byte generated file to focus where
exactly the problem appears

On a prior attempt, I got an error that said: Access Violation at address 10023768 in module 'avispliter.ax' Read of address 02549000.

 

You might want to give DVD Flick a try.

 

if this is just a download, find another place to download it from and make sure,also read comments about file left from other users.
