i have installed a new motherboard ( gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 ) and when i installed my video card (XFX GeForce 8500 GT Fatal1ty).i turn the computer on everything seems to be fine but i get no imput signal displayed my screen, i have tried 4 monitors and i have used dvi and vga on the card and i cant get the card to work. this card worked on the old motherboard. any help would be appreciated.
The PC probably isn't POSTing so it can't display video. Have you seated your RAM properly, and is the 4-pin ATX +12V connector for the CPU securely connected?
Have you tested this board before, or did you just mention the graphics card because you assumed it was the problem?
i have tested the video card on another computer and it works, the motherboard is new, im getting no display on my monitor so i was thinking it was a problem with the video card.
ok i think there is a problem with my power supply,i connected the atx connector and turn the computer on and it powers off after a few seconds, i did not have the atx connector pushed right in before
Does it power off completely, or shut down and turn back on in a repeating cycle? Which EP45-DS3 board do you have, the DS3L or DS3R? You may potentially have a faulty board with no BIOS installed, that did happen in the earlier days with the Ep45-DS3R.
it turns off and back on in a repeating cycle. the board i have is a ep45-ds3 s-series. i got the board here http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(37537)Gigabyte-GAEP45DS3-LGA775Intel-P45-DDR2-ATX.aspx
RMA the board then. Do your best with MicroDirect, last time I used them they were very rude about returns. I pray that's changed.
