Hello, I have a strange problem, My pc wont recognize any monitor. The Pc starts and runs well but just doesn't give any display. I have tried another hard disk, even that didn't work, the harddrive from the pc runs well in other pc's. I have tried other videocards, but that didn't work either. I'm running out of solutions, please help !! Almo
Maybe the monitors you are trying, don't support the resolution you have your video card set to? Do you have any idea what the resolution is set to and what type of monitors are you using? Are the video cables (VGA) inserted properly? Was the video card ever set to display on another monitor (dual monitor setup)?
I have tried changing the resolution of the monitors with another pc, and it still didn't work. I Have also tried several VGA cables on different monitor's but it didn't work either. The videocard wasn't set to a dual monitor setup, even tried other videocards. The pc worked great, untill one day it said No Input signal after I tried to start it. Could it work if I Install new windows to the hard disk and continiou the installation on the that pc?? and Could it be in the BIOS settings? Almo
How did you change the resolution if you don't have any video? Sounds like the video driver may be bad, or some how the resolution got set to an unsupported format for the monitor. So you did try hooking the monitor up to a different PC and that still didn't work - no video with that monitor before changing resolution? And if that didn't work, then I would suspect the monitor is somehow bad - especially since you used different video cards. No, not if you weren't getting video on a different PC. Only way that might work is if the video driver was somehow corrupted and re-installing the OS put a un-corrupted driver back on. But it didn't work when you tried it on another PC, so probably not. Like I said before, didn't work on a different PC, so probably not - unless I am unclear about something here and don't fully understand what you meant by "tried changing the resolution of the monitors with another pc". Maybe someone else has an idea?
I Have 2 pc's, One works fine. With that pc I have set the resolution low and tried with the other pc but it didn't work !! I Also tried 3 different monitors, All work fine but not with the pc that I am telling about. Almo
Ok, so you are getting video on a different PC. All you are doing is changing the resolution on "that" particular video card. The problem is with the other video card. So changing the resolution on the "working" PC is only letting us know that the problem is either with your PC or the video card. Maybe check the BIOS settings like you said. Or, if you don't care about the OS, install a new OS and that might fix the problem. What type of video card is it? Is it a stand up card or an embedded one?
I'm going to try that videocard in another pc that works. I can't enter the bios because I don't get any display. If this doesn't work I'm going to try and install a new windows. I'll let you know what happened. thanx for the help, Almo Edit ( It's an Nvidia Video card )
Yea, that's what I was going to say if it was a stand up card. Put it in another system and see what happens.
I just tried putting that videocard into another pc, and it works great. So I adjusted the resolution and tried it back in the other ( were it didn't work ) pc and it didn't work. I'm wondering why would it work with a new windows? How will I be able to finisch the installation of windows when I can't see anything??
Because the settings aren't really getting saved when you have it in the other PC. Have you tried putting the video card in any other slots other then the one we know doesn't work? Also, have you tried hooking your monitor up to the on board video on the PC, then changing the resolution on the stand up card from that point. Try that, if that doesn't work I can't think of anything else other then the driver being bad somehow or your PCI slots are bugging out. Like I said before, if you can back up all your important documents/media, install a fresh OS. If it still doesn't work, then there has to be something wrong with the PCI slots?
I tried hooking the monitor up to the on board video, but it also doesn't get any display. Don't know if the PCI slots are good, but the pc runs without any problem, there is just no display. I Don't understand why it won't work with my other hard disk?
think you are having the same problem i'm having: need to know what i can do if a cpu does this: the problem is, that i have to plug and unplug the keyboard from the port over and over again until i can boot up and see that the keyboard is recognized by the cpu. the cpu will not just start up without a keyboard or mouse attatched like normal computers do. i know that if any working computer have nothing attatched to any port exept the monitor the computer will still boot and you will get the message no keyboard or mouse found. still, the computer should boot and if i have a usb keyboard attatched once the computer boots and finds the usb port upon going to windows, the program will find the p/p hardware. also, the computer will not restart like a regular computer. it won't just cut off and cut right back on. once it has gotton out of windows the monitor just goes blank and the power stays on and nothing else happens. who can solve this great mistery ((try what i started out doing, if it works than you most defenatly have the same problem that i do. and it seems that we both need answes. that's how i found out that it's not the grafix card or anyother prob it may just be a keyboard problem not connecting to the ps/2 input.
