Hi everyone, I was running nero 6 (smartstart) perfectly well on my old machine. I have recently made a new PC and put the same DVD burner (lite-on) in it and installed the same OS (XP). On the new machine I have never been able to burn video DVDs. Nero simply does not give me the option of doing so. As far as I know all drivers are up to date - this is irrelevant really because the same configuration was working fine on my old PC. Anyone got any idea? It's most frustratiing. Cheers Barney
what version of nero 6 are you using? I would try doing a clean reinstall, by running the nero clean tool run ccleaner defrag reboot and reinstall nero 6.6.0.18 its the best version. http://filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/?539
Thanks for replying. The instal is clean. I've tried the newer version of nero (thanks for that) and still only get the options of Data DVD and Copy DVD. Perhaps it's the burner - I don't know - but everything else works fine - cd audio and data, DVD data etc
I've just noticed something interesting: I inserted a blank DVD into the drive and the regular windows box appeared asking me what I'd like to do with the blank disk. The wording would suggest that windows thinks it's a CD and not a DVD. Does it always refer to blank media as CDs whether they're DVDs or CDs?
