    Hi

I've moved from the North West to the West Midlands and have taken my starview box with me. The cables are all the same etc but it says 'No Signal' on every channel. I've tried the latest codes for CW, TW and PURE NTL but each one yields the same 'no signal' message.

Is there a common problem or something I need to do? Key EMU is on etc

    Thanks

when you say cables are all the same
    is everything connected proper?
you should get at least the channels even if they are blocked

Well all the channels that were previously installed were there, it just said 'no signal'.

Just did the factory reset and it found nothing.

I got a new cable today to run from the box on the wall to the splitter (from a Virgin Media guy who was packing his van up down the street) and have connected it as I did before i.e. wall box > cable> splitter> cable modem> set-top box.

The wire is in the back of the box, the scart lead is in, the TV ariel is in.

Are you sure you have the cable plugged into the correct socket on back of Starview? There are 2 and one is not used, try the other one. From memory I think one is Aerial In and one is Cable in.

    yeh deffo nag.3 then
your other choice is starview.6 or hd combo also the kryptview a780 all for cable in uk only
or set up a share with close trusting friends/family
you need broadband for any of above to work

What's a nag.3 then? Does that mean this one is perma-knackered?

nag.3 is the latest encryption to block the boxes to work (in short)
no fixes at the moment and does not look good for the near future
did you try what Mooley said?

but the boxes said above work around it with the help of your broadband

Even if it is N3 you would have a signal, it just means your channels would be encrypted. They would still scan in though. Have you tried what I said.

Is the actual cable connected outside the house, no signal means the box is getting no signal, make sure you have a live feed.

Follow the cable from inside the house to outside the house all the way up to near the roof and see if your cable in connected or if there is a little silver thing sticking out of it.

It's no internet lampoon. Certainly sounds like you have no live feed as dave says.

It leads out to the front, wired all the way down to the front of the house at ground level into a brown box. The brown box has two cables running out of it which are concreted under the ground running to, I believe, the green box over the road

I see no silver thing, just something resembling a key

Sammy I have to go try this, put the cable into the back of the tv if you dont get the usual few channels you dont have a live feed, but do post back you will get this sorted one way or the other, best of luck.

I put the cable that runs from the splitter to the STB into both my freeview box and the tv. No signal for freeview box and nothing for the regular TV (although I assume this will happen because of the digital switchover)
