ok guys i have a problem here and would really appreciate some help!

i built a pc and after about 6 months of using it i received an error message - "no signal input", on the monitor when i attempted to boot the system up. when i turned the power on, the monitor would turn on and the initial start up screen would appear on the monitor - running through checking drives etc... then when it reached the "starting windows" part I would loose the signal and the monitor would switch off.

i put this down to the onboard graphics on the motherboard so bought a standalone graphics card and then formatted the hard disk at the same time. the computer then worked fine for about 5-6months, and now the exact same thing is happening again - computer starts to boot up and then the monitor dies when it reaches the windows starting part.

has anyone got any idea how i can fix this? memory maybe? psu? i'm at a loss

the monitor definitely works - the bios post appears and it runs through until the "starting windows" bar appears, then the monitor loses signal
