no signal when recordng vhs to dvd

    I've done this before but no luck today....Feeding the vhs signal(audio and video) into the philips stand alone dvd burner, then out to tv which is showing the signal when the Philips is off but nothing when it is on. ...any help is much appreciated.....Mike

    My recorder had inputs that could be selected using the channel buttons on the remote.
