I've tried using TMPGEnc on a few different AVI files and I am always left with no audio. I read a tek somewhere on this forum that advised decompressing the audio with VirtualDUB first but every time I atttempt this it gives the following error ''No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format''

    Any ideas anyone ???

I've checked with GSpot and it says it's ac3 (0x2000) Dolby Laboratories and that I already have 3 compatible codecs installed..

Use VirtualDUBMOD for ac3 audio, TMPGEnc doesnt support ac3 audio!

So I would recommend you use DVD2SVCD with TMPGEnc, because then BeSweeet will do the audio, TMPGEnc will do the video and bbMPEG will multiplex them together!
