Used tmpgenc dvd author to create a disc of sample clips.
Made sure all the clips were in the right format for dvds.
The software created the vobs and ifos and I burnt them using Record Now Max as per usual.

Tested the disc in my pc and 100% in all respects.

Put it into my standalone dvd player and picture was 100% but no sound, and the player told me there were no audio tracks present on the disc at all.

Checked the disc and the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS were fine.

    MPEG-1 Audio Layer-2, 48000Hz stereo, 384kbps

Have burnt plenty of discs before of this format, so any ideas why there is no sound?

    Order of folders?

Ok, found the problem, but still don't know what's causing it.

Normally when I play a dvd, my amp is set to DVD.
There is no sound on this setting.

If I set it to TV or increase the tv volume manually, there is audio.

If I set the amp to PCM instead of Bitstream, there is audio on the DVD setting, but no audio from normal dvds or at least the DTS soundtrack I tried.

So, it would seem the audio is in PCM, whatever this is, and why it can't be played normally is beyond me.
