Hi Firstly I'm glad I found this site as I usually can't understand the technical bits! i have an iMac G4, 10.2.8, and I have downloaded DVDbackup and the Demo version of DVD2One. I have read the other posts but none of the answers seem to apply. I followed the guide Exactly!! I can play the first copy of the movie using VLC from the Hard Disk (that's the one decrypted by DVDbackup.(To do this I have to click on each individual VOB icon). I transferred that to DVD2ONE (the first 30 minutes trial) and I can play this also using VLC - but no sound! When I try to play it with the Apple DVD Player it is very jerky and no sound either. The VIDEO_TS folder has a 2 BUP files, 2 IFO files and 1 VOB file. The Audio_TS file is empty. I transferred this to Roxio Toast 5.1.4 and made another drinks coaster, jerky and no sound. Where am I going wrong, I've been trying different programmes for ages, and I'm getting disillusioned with Macs in general. My friends with PC's seem to find this easy. I would be happy to buy DVD2One if I knew it worked, but if the Demo failed what is the point. I wanted to copy the movies I own as the kids play them a lot and they get scratched quickly. Sorry for the excessively long question, I don't know how much detail to give. I'd be grateful for help.
After processing the DVD files with DVDBackup you should be able to play them with DVDPlayer (just launch DVDPlayer and press file to get "Open VIDEO_TS folder" and navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder that DVDbackup had produced and press open. Now you just need to press play on the DVDplayer controler). If it does not work send me your email on a private message and I will email you a working copy of DVDBackup with instructions. You will need to get DVD2OneX to compress the VIDEO_TS folder so it will fit in a standard 4.7GB DVD. I works very well producing a compress file with an amazing video quality.
