ive been making a dvd up of different svcd files,i made the files dvd compatible by using dvdlab, and all that it said needed changing was the audio (although svcd format for the video wont work in all players)
but when i played the dvd in a normal player, i got no sound, but the video worked fine. i have seen that the sound is 192kbs in the dvd files, could this be why?
a file that i made myself (wasnt an svcd) works fine and thats audio is 1560kbs. thanks.

Did you check that there was audio in the Video_TS Folder before you burned it to DVD???

After DVDLab makes the Video_TS Folder you should use a Software DVD Player like WinDVD to watch the Movie to make sure all of the Menu"s and Chapters and of cource the audio and Video work "Before" you burn them to DVD....

The Problem could be that after DVDLab Transcoded the audio you Forgot to drag and Drop if from the Assets Bit to the "Movie 1" Window OR DVDLab could have somehow had some sort of Problem with the audio when Transcodeing it and that is why it isn"t there....

Well Next time you will Know....For Now all you can Do is Try again from Scratch but this Time Be more Carefull and Check your Work Before Burning it so you don"t waste DVD"s.....

    Cheers

Well the Problem could also be that your DVD Player doesn"t support the Mpeg-1 layer 2 audio format on your DVD as it isn"t exactly 100% DVD Compliant....

Maybe Try encode the audio from your SVCD Files to Dolby Digital AC3 which is the Most Common and best format for DVD"s and it is 100% DVD Compliant....If you install the "Tmpgenc AC3 Plugin" then you can use DVDLab to encode the audio to AC3 for you.....

Because the audio Bitrate is 192kbs will not have any effect on if the audio Plays or Not as 192kns is the Standard Bitrate used for Sterio audio in DVD"s.....

    Minion,

could it be then that, perhaps when playing on the PC you can listen to the audio and when you play it on the stand alone player you only hear noise, for instance?

try converting your audio to PCM and see what happens.
