    Hi,

I've been using WinAVI to convert avi files to vob and the picture quality comes through perfect. However, there is no sound in the vob file. I've tried changing various settings and different audio compression rates, and nothing is working. Can anybody help me out?

    Thanks

Well it could be From One of Two Things...It could be that you do not have a Dolby Digital AC3 audio decoder installed on your System when is needed to Playback most DVD Audio...

    You can download one here:

    http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/

The other reason could be that the Audio in your AVI file is VBR MP3 which usually either Goes way out of Sync after encodeing or it Just Dissapears...
The way to Fix this problem is to decompress the audio in your AVI file before encodeing to Mpeg-2/DVD Format....

You can download a tool here that can decompress the audio in your AVI file for you....

    Good Luck
