I made a slide show last night and when I went to burn it there was no sound. I have used nero for .avi files and other movie files and not had this problem which is why I am confused.
My two thoughts as to what the problem might be are
    1) mp3's aren't supported
2)the music files aren't in the same folder as the pictures for the slide show.

    Anybody else have any ideas?

Also on top of that I burned the slide show "sucessfully" and did not get any error logs.

I'm very interested in any suggestions on how to fix this since I am also having the same problem. What's interesting is the fact that when I add an MP3 (or WAV) to either a movie or a slide show, Nero Vision will not play the sound. Like the OP, AVI's are just fine.

I am fairly positive this is a codec issue, but I am a codec noob and I am finding it difficult to troubleshoot this. I have Nero 8.3.2.1 with Windows XP.

    What I have tried:
    - Installed KLite 3.90 Full
    - Used DirectShow Filter Manager to set NeAudio2.ax & NeVideo.ax filter merits to Do Not Use.

    Many thanks in advance!

what about playing it when its burnt? on a standalone dvd player?

i have made a slide show and main music that plays all through works and menu music, this was done in nero v6 though.

do you have all the plugin serials loaded?

GOod questions - No sound when playing on a stand-alone DVD player
    - For Nero 8 Ultra, I have only 1 serial number. Should I have more than one?

i have 7 serials in my nero 8

but i think i may have something? where do you put your music?

does it play all the way along? or just on each clip? in effect 2 musics playing?

yesterday i had no music playing, today i do in picture, but i used what was already loaded to media folder, when i first imported it yesterday it didnt work, to day i opened nero, music was still in nero media folder window and it played in nero remote control window?

    will test further...

yes today its working, i have 2 audios running on every picture has its own audio and the whole length of the dvd plays a mp3 file, all my music are mp3.

wierd, as yesteday it wouldnt play in nero preview/remote control window?

    a bug? hmm...

try loading all your pictures AND mp3 tunes to the media folder first!

    then drag files in...

Thanks for helping with this, Rotary. Here is the list of things I have tried so far with no good luck yet:
    - Imported an MP3 into the assets, then added the MP3 to the slide show.
    - Imported a WAV into the assets, then added it to the slide show.
    - Recorded a narration, saved it as WAV, then added it to the slide show.

I tried nearly every since audio format and still no sound.

So then I got a little more fancy... I renamed the neaudio2.ax and nevideo.ax files and removed their registrations from the registry. After doing this, I still have no audio and when trying to transcode, I get errors. Unfortunately, I am not at my home computer to get the log files, but I'll try to post them tonight.

I'm still thinking this is a CODEC issue... but I haven't found the evidence yet.

Did you buy the Ultra edition?

My music is located in My Documents\My Music in various sub folders

No sound at all. The slide show will preview fine with no errors... just no sound at all.

One other thing I did which I forgot to post in my last reply... I also deleted the items in the NFAcache folder (I think that was the right folder...again, not at home pc)

I guess I have hijacked this thread... sorry, trexmac!
Anyway... I installed K-Lite Codec Pack Full (3.9.0), but not the entire Mega Codec Pack. Perhaps I need to try that. I could have sworn the K-Lite Codec Pack Full install actually installed the FFDShow filter! I'm thinking it's the FFDSHOW rev. 1953 filter that's missing from my box. I'll install the Mega pack and report back later tonight.

Downloaded and installed the Mega codec pack... still same issue. I even deleted the items from the NVFACache folder and had Nero recheck the files in the assets... no go. There is one entry in the NeroVisionLog.txt file that concerns me:
    Code:

Notice the "failed to build" part. This seem to occur any time I add an MP3 to the slide show.
