Can anyone help me please, my nokia 1600 when i put my orange sim card in the phone it starts up, but then i have no signal at all. I can still get into my old messages contacts etc but cannot make or recive messages or phone calls. It comes up when i turn the phone on (Sim Card Registration Failed) is there anything i can do??? You need to call Orange and find out how to activate the SIM. I assume the phone is an Orange phone. J
well the phone is on orange but i got it given to me, my sim card i have had for years. Whenever ive put the sim card in any other phone it works fine, but this one it says (sim card registration failed) i dont know if this means the phone could be blocked? From the previous owner?
If it had a security code on it, I expect it would ask for it. It could be Blacklisted. You will have to find out the history of the phone. J

How to Check If Your Phone is Blacklisted!! Different networks blacklist handsets in different ways: Orange & O2: If you place an active orange or O2 sim into a blacklisted handset you phone will not show any signal strength at all! If the handset is a Nokia then a "SIM card registration failed" message will also be displayed. You could make a call. It could be stollen. Nothing more to do. J
