First you must check if your laptop can read DVDs. if not, check if the disc is not a DVD, otherwise you won't be able to install. Put another disc on, to see if your computer's drive is not bad. If everything's ok (your computer can read the disc, regardless if it's a dvd or not), then, with the disc inside of he drive, go to My Computer and double-click the CD or DVD drive (depending on your hardware) to see what comes up. If the Norton disc is inside, you should hear it spin and a screen will come up. If the drive cannot read the disc, a message will tell you to insert a disc or the hourglass mouse pointer will appear, and the thing will freeze.

If none of this happens, then right-click the disc drive on my computer, and click on open, not autoplay. A window with a lot of files will have to come up, so look for a file that says SETUP.EXE and double-click it.

If you still can't do it, then re-check if your computer can read other discs, such as audio CDs or a movie DVD. If it can't, call customer service to get your computer's warranty done.

If the computer reads other discs but the N360 disc, then get the disc back to the store and ask for a replacement.
