hi, some of the sonmgs i download wont play on media player or win amp. the progrees counter moves as if it is playing but no sound comes out. also some say 'aquiring license' and dont play. sorry if its a stupid question but please can anyone help me. cheers
These could be DRM ([bold]D[/bold]igital [bold]R[/bold]ights [bold]M[/bold]anagement) files. This basically means there protected. Is the format mp3. This guide might help http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/156883 and this also might help http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/180246 Reply is you still need help. Weazel
I have a similar problem in WMP. The song is simply skipped and it turns red. Realplayer plays the same songs just fine. Not sure why. B
What file types are you guys having issues with? Real? If real player can play the files and WMP cant then either the files are protected (using Reals DRM encryption) or WMP doesn't have the correct codecs installed to play REAL audio files. Ced
Mp3s? Your WMP can't play Mp3s? Wow. All WMPs as of 7.1 can play mp3 files. Mabye you need to re-install your Windows Media codecs?
Mp3s don't have copy protection of any kind! So if its telling you that you need a license then the files are not legit Mp3s (.mp3 files). Ced
Oh. Ok. Try installing an app called [bold]EncSpot[/bold] (its freeware): Link: http://www.guerillasoft.co.uk/encspot/index.html This app will tell you if the Mp3s are corrupt in any way. Ced
having problems converting drm protected wma files? just finished converting 2000+ wma files before coming to this forum and it don't do real-time recording which is painstakingly time consuming, with the program i'm using, an average of 5 to 10 secs for a 3 minute long song... if you're interested, email me at wmaconvert@yahoo.com
