I've been usiing sSrink & Nero for years. Now all of the sudden I keep getting "burn errors" when using. Sometimes it says "bad media" sometimes it says "failure to write 16" or something like that. I've tried everything, Firmware updates, even switching media, trying new programs, I.E.(DvdDecrypter, AnyDvd w/ CloneDVD, DvdFabExpress, etc. I mean nothing works. Usually the rip will continue, but the burn always fails halfway through. I'm using a HP300i with

I'm using Ridata & occasionally Verbatim, I'm not sure what the burning speed is, i think it usually says 4.7 but I just check max speed. here is what happened when trying to burn with Shrink.

As Konfused said, CLOSE some other progs and recover some RAM. 22mb left is crazy, should have at LEAST 350 MB free.

Also burn at 4x, dont select max, which is 16x.

make sure blank disc is inserted BEFORE starting the burn to allow Nero to detect the disc/speeds correctly.

have requested this thread be moved toNero forum..

I'm gonna shut some progs down, but how do I find the info you all gave me I.E. Physical memory : 735MB (753184kB)
    Free physical memory: 22MB (22728kB) Memory in use : 96 %

RAM. 22mb left is crazy, should have at LEAST 350 MB free.

Where do you see I only have 22mb RAM left?
How do I recover RAM, & where do I go on the PC to find it?
    Thanks guys!

The amount free is the amount under "available".

If youd like, post us a screenshot of your ctrl+alt+del so we can see what programs you are running.

Well as you can see, 100% CPU usage is very bad so there is definetely something wrong with DVD Fab or one of the programs running in the background. I saw you had AOL on, close it. If your downloading anything, close it.

the only thing i can think of is that you should update the firmware of your burner.

good luck and tell us how it goes.
