NTSC / PAL playback and capture

    I own an ADVC300.
    It can capture both PAL and NTSC.

    I also have a HI8 Handycam.
    It says NTSC.
    Does this mean
    -it can only play NTSC content?
    -it can only play on an NTSC tv?
    -it can only record in NTSC format?

    I am want to take HI8 PAL tapes and send them through my ADVC300 to my computer.

    Can this be done or do I need a different player?

    Your NTSC Hi8 Camcorder will probably not be able to Playback Pal Hi8 Tapes but I guess you can give it a Try and see if it can....
