Null cable pinout for Starview?

Anyone know the minimum cable pinouts required to flash my Starview box to V4?
Will a pin 2/3 crossover and pin 7 ground cable be enough for the Starview box? If not I have to buy one!!

Also when I do the flash, do I press DOWNLOAD on the PC first and then on the STARVIEW? Or does it matter?

you need a 9pin female to female rs 232 cable(null modem cable).also when flashing just press download on your computer don't press anything on your starview

I have a null cable with just the three data wires.
Some h/w boxes need control wires also (RTS/DTR/DSR etc etc).
Other boxes just want to see the data wires and ignore the controls.
I wanted to know which type was STARVIEW?
The PC will work with just 3 wires.
I am afraid to try it in case I end up with a broken Starview!!

can't help you with that all i know is you need a null modem cable

 

MG, please, one more question.

When I do the flash job must I be in the MENU/Software on the Starview box? Which part of the menu?

just be on the main menu.the background will go black.and on the computer wait until it says download complete never take the cable out of your box while it is flashing because it will break your box
