numerous unknown restarts by computer i just had my computer cleaned ou added more memory and when i got it back i restarts and i lose what ever i am working on what could be causing this. i've returned it where it was work on and the still have not fixed it can someone please help no error is showing or anything

In order to find out what error is giving you the prob, and I'm with both previous posts here...but I believe you should go with Pieman's suggestion first. Don't play down the other one, it's imperative for clean computing to have those programs installed and the malware removed. Right click the My Computer icon, go to Properties. Click on the Advanced tab, then the Settings button under Statup and Recovery. Uncheck the Restart Automatically box in the bottom section. Next time it crashes, you'll get the infamous blue screen of death (BSOD)...that will the error codes the peeps here will need to help you locate the issue. Most likely, it's being caused by a faulty memory module, OR, a faulty memory slot on the motherboard. Once we have the codes, MemTest86 will most likely be your next step in solving the problem. However, if you want....shut off the computer, unplug it. Open the case and remove the new memory stick. Fire the system back up and see if the problem goes away.
i have done every thing ravoo9 has posted. i just put more memory added and it was a 512. Now i have to 512s but it say in system properties under general i only have 922 mb of ram. could that be athe problem? also i did what Morph416 posted blue screen is not coming up and computer continues to restart on it own.
Computers restarting without any errors are usually one of two things: Heat. Lack of power. It might be the fact that you've went over your limit for your current power supply to efficiently run the system. You can test that theory by removing the new stick and see if it keeps restarting. The reason you're only showing 992 of ram and not 1024, is because the system memory is being shared by the onboard video. Another thing you can do, is remove unneeded drives or PCI cards. Old drives you don't need like a CD-ROM, floppy... if you don't have the time to run out and get a new PSU at the moment.
